Who we are

Grâce Toléqué Atelier is an inclusive limited production sustainable fashion brand. We use textiles produced by local artisans who utilize century-old techniques to create unique fabrics specially for us. At the core of our brand was a personal need that our founder and Creative Director wanted to solve for herself. In the summer of 2020, this petite framed creative gained 30 pounds as she quickly went from peri-menopause to menopause. In addition to trying to understand and manage the challenging and complex symptoms of menopause in the mist of a pandemic, she also found herself unable to fit into any of her clothes. We were of course all in lockdown, wearing leisure wear while sheltering in place. But between exercising, doing research online to understand the symptoms of menopause and combat the rapid weight gain she could not shed, she came to realize that she needed to find garments to fit the body of the new woman she had become, a new body with vastly different proportions that she needed to love! Having designed and custom made much of her wardrobe in the past, this creative endeavor felt exciting at a moment of such uncertainty! So the question was: “How do you create an elegant silhouette specifically for the female body amidst menopause when your midriff and hips have widened significantly in comparison to the rest of your body?”. How do you continue to dress your fabulous self at this very vulnerable moment of your life? These are the questions we aim to answer at Grâce Toléqué Atelier. And because fashion sustainability is very important to the ethos of our brand, we are committed to creating a limited production of high-quality made garments using artisan produced textiles in women-led social enterprises or to up-cycle fabrics from pre-existing stock. We invite you to join us on this amazing journey and we hope that our unique and beautifully made garments will find a place in your curated closet!
